Good Maintenance Practices:
- Tighten the wheel hub axle nut to recommended specs, overtightening may cause premature wear to the hub assembly
- Do not operate vehicle with a worn wheel hub assembly
- For bearings that are bolted onto knuckles, apply GM-recommended grease between bearing knuckle pilot and knuckle bore for easy of future removal. Take special care to avoid getting grease in the threads.
Signs of wear for wheel hubs include but are not limited to:
- Grinding when the vehicle is in motion
- Knocking or clunking
- Humming, rumbling, squealing, roaring or growling
- Looseness
- ABS, Traction control, Stability control light.
- Wheel vibration and/or wobble
