Good Maintenance Practices:
- Before purchasing and installing an engine coolant reservoir, make sure it is the correct fit for your vehicle
- Regularly inspect for cracks in reservoir
- Have coolant tested for freezing and boiling point per owner’s manual recommendation
- Keep coolant at recommended levels and mixture
- Regularly inspect engine coolant reservoirs for signs of damage or wear, and replace them if signs of damage are found
Signs of wear for engine coolant reservoirs include but are not limited to:
- Low engine coolant levels
- Overheating vehicle
- Wet spots under vehicle engine compartment
