Before purchasing and installing an oxygen sensor, make sure it is the correct fit for your vehicle
- Use recommended octane fuel to prevent sensor from excessive carbon
- Ensure you have the right part with the right wire length for your vehicle.
- Excess wire can be exposed to extreme heat and abrasions that can lead to premature wire harness failure.
- Regularly inspect oxygen sensors for signs of damage or wear and replace them if signs of damage are found
Signs of wear for oxygen sensors include but are not limited to:
- Check engine light illuminated
- Poor engine performance
- Poor fuel economy
