There are many things you can do to keep your vehicle's window system running smoothly:

  • Never try to roll down the window when it is frozen.
  • Keeping the parts well-greased is important to ensure that they keep operating properly.

If your window makes noise when moving (NOTE: A noise level similar to the 'hum' of a small fan is expected.) If louder, then:

  • Check fuse.
  • Check that battery is in good condition and connected.
  • Be sure ignition is in the 'Accessory Position'.
  • Be sure window is seated in guides properly.
  • If replacement was 'motor' only, be sure motor gear is properly aligned with regulator gear.
  • Check weather stripping for drag on window.
  • Be sure moving parts on regulator or window itself are not encountering interference.
  • Be sure window is seated in guides properly.
  • Check that screws holding regulator are tight.
  • Check to see if wires or cables are interfering with movement of window or regulator.
