Before purchasing and installing an engine oil pan, make sure it is the correct fit for your vehicle
- Keep oil changed and levels full for proper lubrication
- Hand thread drain plug before using tool to prevent cross threading
- Use proper weight and amount of oil
- Change oil filter with every oil change
- Regularly inspect engine oil pan for signs of damage or wear, and replace them if signs of damage are found
Signs of wear for engine oil pans include but are not limited to:
- Oil leaking from drain plug
- Worn oil pan gasket leak
- Metal shavings from drained oil
- Oil pan leaking from corrosion
