Good Maintenance Practices:
- Before the purchase and installation of a catalytic converter, make sure it is the correct fit for your vehicle.
- Regularly inspect catalytic converters for signs of damage or wear, and replace them if signs of damage are found.
- Refer to your Vehicle Owner's manual for additional vehicle maintenance practices.
Signs of wear or damage for catalytic converters include but are not limited to:
- Illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) or Check Engine Lamp
- Decrease in fuel efficiency
- Excessive exhaust noise
- Inability to accelerate when pedal is depressed
- Exhaust fumes entering the interior cabin
