Good Maintenance Practices:
- Before purchasing and installing an automatic transmission control solenoid, make sure it is the correct size and fit for your vehicle.
- Periodically check transmission fluid level.
- If a problem occurs, have a trained technician service the solenoid.
- Regularly inspect automatic transmission control solenoids for signs of damage or wear, and replace them if signs of damage are found
Signs of wear for automatic transmission control solenoids include but are not limited to:
- Erratic shifting
- Severe shifting delay
- Transmission not downshifting
