Good Maintenance Practices:
- Before purchasing and installing an automatic transmission valve body, make sure it is the correct fit for your vehicle
- Periodically check transmission fluid level
- If a problem occurs, have a trained technician service the valve body
- Regularly inspect automatic transmission valve bodies for signs of damage or wear, and replace them if signs of damage are found
Signs of wear for automatic transmission valve bodies include but are not limited to:
- Banging noises when traveling in reverse, slowing down, or changing gears
- Slow gear changes
