Before the purchase and installation of an airbag clock spring, make sure it is the correct fit for your vehicle.
- Due to the critical nature of the design of air bag systems, GM does not support the use of any used, salvaged, or imitation parts for repair. Only new, genuine GM warranted parts should be used in repair.
- Refer to GM Service Information prior to any repairs to the airbag system
- Have the airbag Clock Spring inspected by a certified technician after all collisions.
- Regularly inspect airbag clock springs for signs of damage or wear, and replace them if signs of damage are found.
- Refer to your Vehicle Owner's manual for additional vehicle maintenance practices.
Signs of wear or damage for airbag clock springs include but are not limited to:
- Increased noise when turning steering wheel
- Steering wheel electrical controls inoperable
- Airbag malfunction light illuminated
