Before purchasing and installing a coil spring set, make sure it is the correct fit for your vehicle.
- Coil springs should be replaced in axle pairs to provide correct ride height and handling. Inspect the coil springs regularly for corrosion. Corrosion or rust causes the coil springs to weaken, leading to failure.
- Regularly inspect coil spring set for signs of damage or wear and replace them if signs of damage are found.
Signs of wear for coil spring sets include but are not limited to:
- Examine each coil spring for stress cracks, missing coils, or shiny spots between coils
- Front end of vehicle nose dives when braking or vehicle sway
- Vehicles that commonly carry extra weight, resulting in unleveled condition most of the time
