About this product

ACDelco Silicone Brake Lubricant is a compound containing specially selected premium silicone oils and thickened with high levels of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). This brake lubricant combines the temperature, corrosion, and water resistance typical of silicone compounds, with the outstanding lubrication properties of PTFE. These lubrication properties lower brake friction and slip-stick. ACDelco Silicone Brake Lubricant is compatible with most rubber and plastic compounds.

Good Maintenance Practices:

  • Always make sure to use a specialty brake lubricant on your brake parts, like ACDelco Silicone Brake Lubricant. Petroleum-based, or non-high temperature lubricants for other automotive applications, may not be able to withstand the brake system's high-temperature environment to supply necessary brake support.

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Grease-contaminated shoes or brake linings can give inconsistent performance. Brake parts that are not properly lubricated can be grabby. If you notice grease on the friction surface of the brake lining, it is possible that those linings will need to be replaced. If desired, try cleaning the brake lining with ACDelco Brake Parts Cleaner (10% VOC). Be careful using non-approved cleaners as they can further damage the brake linings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, this product can be used on front, rear, drum, or disc brake mechanisms.

No, this product should only be used on the moving parts of the brake system. Do not contaminate brake shoes, pads, rotors, or drums with this product.

Yes. Brake lubricant should be used more often on systems that undergo heavy use or in areas where the environment is very corrosive, for example, where road salt is heavily used. It is a good idea to inspect and lubricate brake parts at least once a year.
