Good Maintenance Practices:

- Always use the recommended type of transmission fluid in your vehicle, as referred to in your owner’s manual.
- Typical fluid change intervals for automatic transmissions vary depending on severity of the usage. See your owner’s manual for maintenance schedules.
Signs of wear for automatic transmission fluid include but are not limited to:
- Thermal stress
- Thin fluid from mechanical shearing
- Contamination by metals or other engine fluids
- Grinding or other abnormal noises from the transmission
- Difficult or slipping when changing gears
- Delays in vehicle movement
